Coming to Ogdensburg Public Library April 2026

Good afternoon,

Spring is here, and the library is kicking off the season with some fun events! Join us for an April Fool’s Day cooking class on the 1st, followed by an Egg Hunt on the 4th. We’re also excited to bring back Magnet Science as part of our STEAM labs this month.

Take Home Crafts
Day and Time: Available for pickup during library hours.
Location: Ogdensburg Public Library (front desk)
Description: Pick up a new craft each week to take home and complete at your own pace.

Music and Movement
Day: Tuesdays (except for 14th or 21st)
Time: 11:00 am
Location: Ogdensburg Public Library
Description: A preschool movement and socialization class. Jump your jiggles out and wiggle your waggles away with music, instruments and sensory play.
Ages: 18 months – 4 years

Story Time
Day: Thursdays (except for 16 and 23)
Time: 11:00 am
Location: Ogdensburg Public Library
Description: Enjoy stories, activities, and crafts for young children. This preschool program helps build early literacy skills, encourages socialization, and fosters a love of books.
Ages: 2-5

St. Lawrence County Libraries April Word Scramble Crawl
Day: April 1-April 31
Location: St. Larence County
Description: Explore St. Lawrence County’s libraries, collect Scrabble tokens, and create a winning word! 📚 From now until May 1st, the highest-scoring word wins a $100 Amazon e-gift card. Get your score card at any participating library and start crawling!

Teen Cooking Class – Go Eat Worms.
Day: April 1

Description: We will be preparing and eating worms.
(The dessert worms and dirt, with Oreos, pudding and homemade gummy worms)

Maple City Yoga – Chair Yoga
Day: April 3

Egg Hunt

Lego Time
Day: April 8

Description: Take on a fun LEGO challenge and see what you can build.
Ages: 5-12

Classical Inklings
Day: April 15
Time: 4:15 pm – 5:45 pm
Location: Ogdensburg Public Library Conference Room
Description: Join us as we read and discuss classics, classical literature, history, archeology, sciences, and linguistics. We will look at both classics and the modern works derived from them. The book we will discuss for April is The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald.

Movie Screening – The Librarians
Day: April 23
Time: 6:00 pm
Location: Ogdensburg Public Library Auditorium
Description: Join us to watch a screening of The Librarians. Directed by Kim A. Snyder, a multi-award winning film. Librarians emerge as heroes in the fight for democracy & free speech. In Texas, 850 books on race & LGBTQia+ stories are targeted, sparking a wave of book bans. Despite threats, librarians stand strong for the freedom to read. Admission is free and open to the public, but registration is required. Click here to register.

Yoga with Kim Halpin
Day: April 23 and 30
Time: 4:00 pm
Location: Ogdensburg Public Library Auditorium
Description: Come to Kim Halpin’s Yoga class on Thursday, April 23 and April 30 at 4 pm. at Ogdensburg Public Library, 312 Washington St. It is free for 10-18 year olds with a paying adult $10 per class. Bring a mat and water.

S.T.E.A.M Lab Day: Magnets
Day: April 29 and May 2
Time: Stop in anytime all day
Location: Ogdensburg Public Library
Description: Explore the science of magnets through hands-on experiments.
