Coming to Ogdensburg Public Library July 2024

Good Afternoon,
Summer Reading is here! Come into the Ogdensburg Public Library this summer for Spanish Story Time, River Science, Water Safety, Lizards and so much more! While you’re here pick up your reading log and start reading to keep your brain in shape. Kids and teens who read 5 books get a chance to win one of our grand prizes, keep reading for more chances.

Library Hours
Mondays and 1:30 pm – 5:00 pm
Wednesdays 11:30 am to 7:00 pm
Tuesday, Thursdays and Fridays 9:30 am to 5:00 pm
Saturday 9:30 – 1:00 pm

Bookstore Hours
Starting July 9th Tuesdays 10:30 am to 12:30 pm
Wednesdays 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm
Thursdays and Fridays 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm

Programs
Take Home Crafts
Day and Time: Available for pickup during library hours.
Location: Ogdensburg Public library, pick up at the front desk
Description: A new craft to pick up and finish at home each week.

Music and Movement
Day: Tuesdays
Time: 11:00 am
Location: Ogdensburg Public Library / Library Park
Description: A preschool movement and socialization class. Jump your jiggles out and wiggle your waggles away with music, instruments and sensory play.
Ages 18 months – 4 years

Story Time
Day: Thursdays
Time: 11:00 am
Location: Ogdensburg Public Library
Description: Stories, activities and crafts for young children. Socialize, gain early literacy skills and learn to love books during this preschool program.
Ages 2-6

Summer Crafts
Day: Wednesdays July 3, July 10, July 17
Time: 1:00 pm
Location: Ogdensburg Public Library
Description: Craft time at the library.
Ages: 3-12

Yoga with Kim Halpin
Day: Wednesdays
Time: 5:00 pm
Location: Library Auditorium (except on July 10th which will be in the teen room)
Cost: $10.00 per person
Description: For 10-18 year olds with an adult/parent (if possible, not required). Bring a mat and water.

Water Safety with the Ogdensburg Auxiliary Coast Guard
Day: July 6

Description: Learn how to be safe while you cool down this summer.
Ages: 3 and up.

River Science – Tern Time
Day: July 8
Time: 2:00 pm

Description: It’s Hard Being a Tern! Learn all about Common Terns and play a game to see if you would survive as a Tern! Presented by Save the River.

End of Life Series – Local Author Holly Chorba

Description: Local Author Holly Chorba discusses her book It’s Okay…Scream in the Shower

Spanish Language Story Time

River Story Time – Painted Turtles

Jeff Boyer: The Bubble Guy

Description: World famous bubble expert Jeff Boyer blows bubbles.

River Science – Mussel Mania
Day: July 22
Time: 2:00 pm
Location: Ogdensburg Public Library
Description: Learn about native and invasive freshwater mussels, the impact mussel populations have and see various species! Presented by Save the River.

Lena The Lizard Lady

Classical Inklings Book Club

Lego Play
